Fantastic Four Recruits Kinberg

Simon Kinberg has been recruited to rewrite the script for the upcoming silver-screen reboot of the Fantastic Four franchise, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Kinberg, whose past credits include the well-received X-Men: First Class, will also serve as a producer on the picture, due to be directed by Josh Trank.

This will see Kinberg reuniting with First Class's Matthew Vaughn, who will also co-produce.

The new Fantastic Four movie will throw out the continuity of the previous films, and will instead take a cue from the Marvel Cinematic Universe by existing within the garbled continuity of the X-Men films.

The script has had a troubled history over the past few years, being worked on at various times by Jeremy Slater, Michael Green, TS Nowlin and Seth Grahame-Smith, and this move is an indication that despite such an extensive collection of rewrites, it's still apparently no good. Friday Night Lights star Michael B. Jordan has prevously been linked with the role of Human Torch Johnny Storm, but to be fair he's linked with everything at the moment so that should be taken with a silo of salt.

The previous Fantastic Four cast, not living up to their name (apart from the "Four" part, I guess)

Despite having no cast and now seemingly no finished script, Fantastic Four is set to release on the 6th March 2015.
